Modicon MODBUS and Square D Ethernet Products!!

New products supporting both the Modicon MODBUS/TCP Ethernet and the Square D Ethernet Communication Module (ECM) are now available.

An OPC Server has been released to support the Modicon Ethernet PLC and the Square D PowerLogic devices connected to the Ethernet Communication Module (ECM).

The FactoryLink Modbus/Square D PowerLogic TCP/IP Ethernet Interface Task supports read and write operations to devices supporting MODBUS/TCP such as Modicon PLC and Square D PowerLogic devices or any device that supports the Modbus RTU via the PowerLogic ECM module. This task also supports unsolicited operations from other peers, i.e., other peers can write data to the interface. The Task is much easier to configure and is half the cost of the standard FactoryLink Modicon Modbus TCP/IP Protocol Driver for RAPD.

The Modicon MODBUS TCP/IP Ethernet Slave Interface acts as a slave on the MODBUS/TCP network allowing other peers to both read and write from and to FactoryLink.

Please see our OPC product download (OPC: Product Downloads) or FactoryLink product download (FactoryLink: Product Downloads) for the new versions. Call if you require a driver or task not listed.

FACTORYLINK to FACTORYLINK via TELEPHONE CONNECTIVITY

A NEWLY IMPROVED Serial Networking Telephone Interface Task will allow one FactoryLink system to dial up another remote FactoryLink system and transfer tag data values between the real time databases (not just viewing or changing tag data on the remote system). The task also supports file transfers. Transfers can be initiated by trigger or on exception tag value change. An excellent, inexpensive solution to your remote site monitoring and reporting system requirements! Task is available for FactoryLink ECS on OS/2 WARP, Windows 95 and Windows NT.  The the task has been improved to allow users fuller control over modem initialization strings. This is expecially useful for sites requiring special dail sequences. Data sheet is available in FactoryLink Product Information. Demo can be down loaded from FactoryLink: Product Downloads.

FACTORYLINK OFF-LINE BATCH RECIPE

The Problem - Recipe Management Headaches Have you been trying to figure out an easy way to develop a recipe system for your FactoryLink applications that will allow your plant floor supervisors and product managers the ability to create and edit recipe data themselves? Without having to buy each of them their own FactoryLink system? Or having them go to the FactoryLink system to edit recipes on-line ?

Everyone knows you can't edit the recipe files created with the standard FactoryLink task - they are binary.

You could build a system using the FLINK Database Browser, Database Logger and Database Historian - sometimes the right solution, often times more trouble then its worth (bh-sql scripts, re-indexing, changing filename extensions, etc, etc, etc.). In any case, your recipe managers still must have the proper database utilities.

The Solution: DASTEC's Off-Line Batch Recipe Task. Please take a minute to see the task's overview we have put together and see what this task can do for you. It solves the above scenario as well as many others. Even if you don't need it now, it could save you time later !

FACTORYLINK X-Y PLOTTING

DEMO is now available for the X-Y Plotting Task for FactoryLink ECS on Windows NT and Windows 95. The demo includes a small, interactive application that allows you to quickly and easily use many of the task's capabilities to perform various drawing and plotting functions within a fully run-time controlled window. This task was ported from our popular OS/2 Warp version and the new demo can be down loaded from FactoryLink: Product Downloads!

EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 1997 a new price list and discount policy was adopted for all of DASTEC's FactoryLink products.

Letters were sent to all FactoryLink distributers to inform them of the new policy and of their new discount status. OEMs, VARs and System Integrators should call or e-mail if there is any questions on their discount level.

DASTEC has implemented the new discount policy at the urging of FactoryLink distributors and resellers. The intent of the policy is to better serve the End User by fostering a closer relationship with FactoryLink's distribution channels. The distributers in turn will be better able to offer a single point of sale for their FactoryLink customers whose systems include DASTEC products and to provide a higher level of local and system level support.

To End Users: DASTEC has always and will continue to be very customer and end user driven. We will continue to provide you with the support you are accustom to and encourage you to continue to call to discuss your application requirements and special needs. Please feel free to call or e-mail us with your comments and questions.
