The FactoryLink GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Interface task allows
the user to configure bi-directional communications between the FactoryLink
Real-Time Database and one or more GE Series 90 PLC(s) on an Ethernet
network. The FactoryLink GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Interface task makes
use of one or more Ethernet adaptors and the operating system's TCP/IP support
to interface the host computer to the Ethernet network.
The Series 90 PLC must each be equipped with an Ethernet Controller module
to interface via the Ethernet network. These modules must be configured using the
appropriate GE FANUC software, i.e., GEnet System Manager (GSM) and Logic
Master Programming Software.
The FactoryLink GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Adaptor Interface
Task is responsible for the following data transactions:
Reading data from PLC memory via single or block read requests.
Writing data to PLC memory via single value changing or triggered block
write requests.
Accepting and processing unsolicited data from PLC(s).
Announcing any error that may occur for the above two transactions.
The FactoryLink GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Adaptor Interface Task provides
the following configuration tables:
GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Station ID -- Tables used to specify
communication parameters per port and select TCP port and device names per
station. Each table consists of two data-entry panels: GE Series 90 TCP/IP
Ethernet Logical Station Control and GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Logical
Station Information.
GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Read/Write -- Each table consists of two data-entry panels:
GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Read/Write Control and GE Series 90 TCP/IP Ethernet Read/Write
Information. These tables are used to identify the following:
- FactoryLink Real-Time Database elements to be used as read and/or write triggers
- FactoryLink Real-Time Database elements used as trigger read/write and exception write disable tags
- Whether or not exception writes are to occur
- Whether or not to support unsolicited message processing and set table priorities
- FactoryLink Real-Time Database elements to be used as table status indicators
- Data types and data address locations with which data is to be exchanged
