The Turnbull Control Systems Interface allows the user to configure
bi-directional communications between the FactoryLink Real-Time Database
and one or more Turnbull Control Systems (TCS) Controllers via the PC computer
communication serial port. The Turnbull Control Systems Interface will
communicate to all TCS controllers that support the binary mode of the Binary
Synchronous (BISYNC) protocol as described in the TCS "System 6000 Communications
Handbook".
The FactoryLink Turnbull Control Systems Interface is responsible for
the following data transactions:
Reading data from TCS controllers via single or block read requests.
Writing data to TCS controllers via value changing or triggered single
write requests.
Announcing and acknowledging any error that may occur for the above two
transactions.
The FactoryLink Turnbull Control Systems Interface offers three
configuration options:
TCS Communication Configuration -- Assigns to which of the two PC's
serial communication port that the controllers are connected, the baud rate
of the PC, and the time required for a command response from a TCS Controller.
Two FactoryLink Real-Time Database elements can be setup to announce and
acknowledge an error that occurred within this background task to a foreground
task. Consists of one configuration panel: Turnbull Control Systems Communication
Configuration.
TCS Polled Read Configuration -- Identifies the FactoryLink Real-Time
Database elements to be used as read triggers and the TCS controller parameters
to be read and transferred to the database. Consists of two configuration
panels: Turnbull Control Systems Polled Read Control and Turnbull Control
Systems Polled Read Information.
TCS Write Configuration -- Identifies the FactoryLink Real-Time Database
elements to be used as write block triggers and the TCS controller parameters
to which data is to be written as a result of the activated trigger or changed
values in the FactoryLink Real-Time Database. Consists of two configuration
panels: Turnbull Control Systems Write Control and Turnbull Control Systems
Write Information.
