The QCM Research Model 2000 External Device Interface (EDI) Driver allows the user
to configure bi-directional serial communications between the FactoryLink
Real Time Database the QCM Research Model 2000 controller. The QCM Research Model
2000 EDI Driver can run on the PC system unit through the standard communication ports.
Multiple device drivers may be installed on the system unit to communicate with multiple
Model 2000 controller.
The QCM Research Model 2000 EDI Driver reads and writes data to and from the
QCM Research Model 2000 controller through the system unit serial communication ports.
Read and write operations can occur at timed intervals, upon triggered
conditions, or upon operator or system event requests. The QCM Research Model 2000
EDI Driver controls the communication interface through information designated
by the user in multiple configuration tables accessed from the FactoryLink
Configuration Manager utility.
The FactoryLink QCM Research Model 2000 EDI Driver is responsible for the following
data transactions:
Reading data from QCM Research Model 2000 controller(s) via single or block read requests.
Writing data to QCM Research Model 2000 controller(s) via single value changing or triggered
write requests.
Announcing any error that may occur for the above two transactions.
The FactoryLink QCM Research Model 2000 EDI Driver provides the following configuration
tables:
QCM Research Model 2000 Station ID -- Tables use to specify communication parameters
and device specific information per port. Each table consists of two data
entry panels: QCM Research Model 2000 Logical Station Control and Carrier Comfort
Network Logical Station Information.
QCM Research Model 2000 Read/Write -- Tables use to identify the following:
FactoryLink Real Time Database elements to be used as read and/or write
triggers
Whether or not exception writes are to occur
FactoryLink Real Time Database elements to be used as table status indicators
QCM Research Model 2000 Controller parameters to which data is to be transferred to and
from the FactoryLink Real-Time Database
